A Legacy of Community and Connection
For over seventy years, the Norwell Women’s Club has been instrumental in engaging women from all walks of life and creating community. Founded in 1959 to bring a sense of friendship and philanthropy to our small farming town, today the Women’s Club continues to drive impact across our community. We believe that with respect, camaraderie, and compassion, we can build a stronger future together.
Each year, the Norwell Women’s Club leads a variety of events and fundraisers that support our local community and businesses. Town-wide events like Halloween on the Common, the Holiday Stroll, and Sweetheart Dance, are free events and open to all ages for a bit of holiday magic and fun.
The NWC hosts monthly social events like our monthly Socialitinis, the Members Only Holiday Party, and our Summer Party, to encourage social connection and networking. Great friendships develop over an app and good conversation, always.
Additionally, the Norwell Women’s Club is also well known for our extensive philanthropic and community service efforts. Each year, we raise thousands of dollars for local nonprofits and organizations in need, including the Norwell Boosters, EmpowerHER, The Norwell Garden Club, The Norwell Recreation Department, and the North & South River Watershed Association, among others. We also award scholarships to distinguished rising college students, to recognize their stellar impact in our community. We have awarded thousands of dollars over the last five years, and our impact continues to grow.
Many of our events are also fundraisers, including the dazzling Mom Prom (think 90s prom, ladies night out glitz and glam) and Comedy Night (where we invite the guys, too!) - All funds raised go right back into the community. Many of our members support the community by volunteering at events like Mother’s Day Tea for the Council on Aging and The Norwell Gardens luncheon.
