LET THERE BE LIGHTS!

It’s time to light up the night, Norwell-style! The Norwell Women’s Club Holiday House Decorating Contest kicks off on the evening of the Holiday Stroll and spreads town-wide cheer through Christmas Eve. Every year, families pile into their cars (often in pajamas), with cocoa in hand, to tour the town’s most dazzling displays. Some make it a one-night event; others turn it into a multi-night tradition—because when the houses glow, the memories grow.

Whether your vibe is classic New England charm, a full-on North Pole explosion, or something hilariously unexpected, this is your time to shine. And yes—there’s a $200 cash prize at stake, but let’s be honest: it’s the smiles from drive-by spectators that truly make it worth it.

  • Don’t miss your chance to be part of the map!

    Registration ends, 12/3. Houses should be decorated by Saturday, December 6th as judging commences the evening of the Holiday Stroll on 12/6 @ dusk.

    A map of all homes entered into the contest will be available online for residents to vote for their favorite on our website.

    A scavenger hunt map will also be available online for the little ones to find an special item you’ve designated as part of your outdoor holiday decorations.

    We will contact you by Friday, Dec 6th with the number of your house and a link to the map. A house marker with your map number will be placed in front of your house before the judging starts.

    This is a free event for the entire community to get everyone in a festive holiday spirit and we greatly appreciate your participation! Happy decorating!

  • Holiday magic is best admired under the stars—residents will have over two weeks to tour, hunt, and vote!

    All registered homes will be included on a Holiday Lights Map so neighbors can tour the displays and vote for their favorite.
    🔎 A scavenger hunt map will also be available for kids—decorators choose one fun item for little ones to search for as they tour!
    Votes will be collected online, and the winner will be announced on December 26 via our website and social media.

  • We’ll reveal our most festive home just as the wrapping paper settles, on our website and Facebook Group page.

  • Plus major street cred and the unofficial title of Norwell’s Holiday Royalty.
